The Qingming Festival (清明节, Qīngmíng Jié) national holiday runs from 5th to 7th April 2027, straight after the wedding.

If you're planning to travel around China for longer after the wedding, we'd recommend booking flights, hotels and any tickets well in advance, as everything gets very busy over the holiday.

2027年清明节假期为4月5日至7日，紧接婚礼之后。如计划婚礼后在中国多留几天旅行，建议提前预订机票、酒店及门票。

For any extra nights, we'd recommend staying within the First Ring Road, for example Dongcheng (around Wangfujing) or Xicheng. These areas are more expensive, but they're close to the main tourist sights.

Beijing traffic is very congested, so the subway is by far the easiest way to get around, and it's much more convenient from these central areas.

Look for the 清真 (qīngzhēn) sign, which means halal.

Niujie (牛街) is Beijing's famous Muslim food street, with lots of delicious food such as meat dumplings, steamed buns and Beijing-style hotpot.

High-speed rail is the most convenient way to get around China. Beijing is well connected to other cities such as Shanghai.

Until 31st December 2026, UK citizens don't need a visa to travel to China.
